Your Cable Show 2012 User Guide

With many of you on your way to Boston for The Cable Show either tomorrow or today, here’s a handy user guide that will help you make The Cable Show a top-notch experience.

Registration

Make sure to register online before you get to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC). This will save you a lot of time waiting in line to buy a badge. We will be keeping our online registration open until Wednesday afternoon. Once you get to The Cable Show, go straight to the Express Badge Printing kiosks. It’s going to be the first thing you see when you enter the BCEC via the North Lobby. Just make sure to bring with you a valid photo ID and a printed copy of your confirmation.

Pro Tip: There are assistants behind the kiosk to aide you, but if you need more in-depth assistance, the Attendee Pre-Registration badge pick-up is on the left of the Express Badge kiosks.

Navigating The Convention Center

Once you are here, do you know what your first stop is? If it’s the Exhibit Floor, go directly behind Registration in the North Lobby. The escalators will take you directly down to the Show Floor.  If it’s to go to one of our Educational Sessions, the session Rooms are located on level one in the East Hall. Just make a left at Registration and follow the signs to the rooms. The rooms are right around the corner.

Pro Tip: Luggage storage is located in the East Hall, Level One. It’s between the session rooms and an escalator that takes you directly to the Show Floor.

Download The Cable Show Mobile App

The best way to put together your agenda for The Cable Show is with our Mobile App – available for iPhones, iPads, Droid devices and web friendly for BlackBerries. It allows you to not only add sessions to a schedule but you can create a list of booths you want to visit.  You can star them from the exhibitor list or highlight them on exhibitor map.

New for this year is the handy Locate Me feature. When you are on the exhibit floor and need to know how to get from one booth to another, Locate Me will show you on the Exhibit Map where you are at on the floor.

Pro Tip: There’s free WiFi at the BCEC.

Networking at The Cable Show

There are plenty of networking opportunities at The Cable Show, but one way to get noticed is by joining the conversation on Twitter by using our official hashtag, #cable12, in your tweets. Also, check out our Events Page on LinkedIN to get a jump start on connecting with others that will be at The Cable Show.

Pro Tip: Bring your business cards. Even in today’s digital age, business cards are still very necessary. Better yet, don’t forget to follow up on those contacts you made when you return home.
