With 2008 wrapping up rather quickly and The Cable Show ’09 just around the corner, I cannot help but to reflect on The Cable Show ’08 and share with you what will happen in the new year.
CableCares Initiatives
One of the major things that stood out to me about The Cable Show ’08 was how welcoming our host city, New Orleans, was.
All of us at NCTA were very excited to return to New Orleans and give back to a city that has given us so much over the years. Once again a special thank you to all of the CableCares volunteers for all of their hard work and positive attitude.
For 2009: We will once again have some volunteer opportunities at The Cable Show ’09 (more on this to come soon).
Think BIG. The Cable Show ’08
With more than 182,000 square feet of exhibit floor space, over 380 exhibitors and 12,000 plus attendees, The Cable Show ’08 proved to be a show that can’t be missed. We opened The Cable Show with the successful tru2way Developers’ Conference and closed it with our first ever, Battle of the Bands. Some other highlights from The Cable Show were:
- The wildly popular session, “Publicity Play: Making an Impact in a Fragmented Media Age” where attendees learned how the different speakers used new Social Media Tools and other online strategies to interact with their customers.
- Monday’s Public Policy Lunch where former FCC chairmen disclosed the presidential candidates viewpoints on Broadband.
- tru2way’s presence on the exhibit floor and in technical sessions.
For 2009: The return of Battle of the Bands and some exciting news on our General Session speakers.
What are some of your fond memories of The Cable Show ’08? What are you looking forward to in 2009?
